On 09th October 2024, H.E. Dr. Betty Bigombe, Uganda's High Commissioner to Malaysia, led a delegation from the Uganda High Commission Kuala Lumpur in a productive meeting with Datuk Seri Dr. KK Chai, the founder and Group Executive Chairman of KK Supermarket & Superstore Sdn. Bhd. The discussions centered on exploring potential collaboration opportunities between Uganda and KK Supermarket in areas of trade and investment, particularly focusing on promoting Ugandan products in Malaysia’s retail market.

Dr. Bigombe highlighted Uganda's rich agricultural potential, particularly in coffee, tea, and other agricultural products, inviting KK Supermarket to consider Uganda as a key supplier. Both parties agreed to further explore avenues for partnership in the context of the upcoming Uganda-Malaysia Trade, Investment, and Tourism Expo scheduled for November 2024.

The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to enhancing trade ties and promoting economic cooperation between Uganda and Malaysia.
