On 17th September 2024, Her Excellency Dr. Betty Oyella Bigombe, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uganda, presented her Letters of Credentials to His Excellency To Lam, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
The official ceremony took place at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi, marking the commencement of Ambassador Bigombe’s tenure as Uganda’s top diplomat to Vietnam. During the ceremony, Ambassador Bigombe conveyed warm greetings from His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, President of the Republic of Uganda, and reaffirmed Uganda’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
In response, President To Lam welcomed Ambassador Bigombe and expressed his hopes for deepening cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including trade, investment, agriculture, education, and cultural exchange.
Ambassador Bigombe is expected to play a pivotal role in further enhancing the long-standing friendship between Uganda and Vietnam, focusing on fostering economic collaboration and exploring new avenues for development cooperation.
